Establishing a Center for Earth Architecture in Serbia has been an on-going project for several years. With this call for support we want to raise awareness and funding for its long-term ideas.
“What is its importance and what is going to be the purpose of this project?”
The rich earthen architecture heritage and the techniques that we used to have are disappearing. Only very few skilled masons remain amongst us and their knowledge is almost lost. We find ourselves therefore at a key moment to preserve this know-how from oblivion so that it can be transmitted to future generations. Our aim is to train people in ways to keep and protect their earth houses, and to preserve the knowledge base for building new ones one day. We want this Center to be a place of preservation, gathering and sharing these ideas.

Thanks to Cosmopolitan magazine I got an old rammed earth house in the nearby village of Mošorin:And I started to renew it with the great help of friends and colleagues of mine:Nevertheless, there is still a lot of work in order to make this center growing and living: This year we are planning very interesting works: earth floors with underfloor heating, clay oven and stove, mud mortars,  southern greenhouse, natural roof insulation,solar panels and much, much more…What we do have is enthusiasm, knowledge and our hands! What we don’t have is money – estimated value of these works is about 30.000 euros. Therefore we need your help, and any help, even the smallest, is welcome!

B1 – pledge € 30:  you are welcome to participate in a one-day workshop in Mošorin by choice, during the construction season from April to October 2014 (the list of workshops will be announced soon)
B2 – pledge € 60:  you are welcome to participate in a weekend workshop in Mošorin choice, during the construction season from April to October 2014 (the list of workshops will be announced soon) , accommodation and food will be provided to you by the local population.
B3 – pledge € 150: if you have your own tent (we can also provide one!), you are welcome to participate in the five-day workshop in Mošorin, during the construction season April-October 2014 (list of workshops will be announced soon)
B4 – pledge € 200: you are welcome to participate in the five-day workshop in Mošorin, during the construction season April-October 2014 (list of workshops will be announced soon) and accommodation and food will be provided by the local population.
B5 – pledge € 300: you are welcome to participate in 5 days workshop during the construction season from April to October 2014 and to enjoy the weekend in the village – excursion in the surrounding area and to get to know the village (accommodation will be provided by the local people.)
B6 – pledge € 500: you are welcome to participate to 5 days workshop during the construction season from April to October 2014 and you are invited to spend a weekend in Belgrade with us, enjoying totally different experience.
B7 – pledge € 700: you are welcome to participate to 5 days workshop during the construction season from April to October 2014 and you can spend a weekend with us in Timisoara in Romania afterwards.
B8 – pledge € 1000: you are welcome to participate to 5 days workshop during the construction season from April to October 2014 and to spend 1 weekend in Belgrade and 1 weekend in Timisoara in Romania.
B9 – pledge € 2000: 2 persons are welcome to be our guests for 2 weeks during the summer 2015, once all the works in the house are done! There would still be some workshops around, so you can live and work with us.
B10 – pledge € 3000: be our guest for 3 weeks during the summer 2015, once all the works in the house are done. There would still be some workshops around, so you can live and work with us.
B11 – pledge € 5.000: you can have 10 days holidays for next 5 years for 2 persons in our house! You will follow our progress, but you will also get to know different places in our country, taste different food from our garden and enjoy our company!
B12 – pledge € 10.000: 2 persons are welcome to spend their 10 days holidays for next 10 years in our house! You will follow our progress, but you will also get to know different places in our country, taste different food from our garden and enjoy our company!
